The Great Dune de Pyla (or Pilat) is the second largest sand dune in Europe. It is located in the Arcachon Bay area to the west of Bordeaux. The dune measures 500m wide by 3km long and reaches a height of 107m above sea level.

This is an excellent destination for a family day out, less than an hour and a half from Laluque (or ideal to combine with flights in or out of Bordeaux airport).
